AIChE, founded in 1908, is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. The American Institute of Chemical Engineers invites applicants to join our Technological Community team. AIChE technical communities work across a wide spectrum of specific fields including chemical engineering, biological engineering, synthetic biology, regenerative engineering, investment, food, space exploration, sustainability, energy and more. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leaders in the chemical and biological engineering field and be a part of developing top global engineering conferences and projects that serve various AIChE member communities totaling over 60,000 professionals. We are currently search for a full-time Manager, Technical Entities.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief of Technical Operations, Membership & Business Development, the Manager will:

• Expand strategic initiatives of the daily operation and develop new growth opportunities in Biological Engineering, Regenerative Engineering, Sustainability, Energy, Manufacturing and more
• Organize and manage different business units within the TC department
• Be accountable for the effective day-to-day operations and results of different business unit within the TC department including specific project toll gates
• Implement various societies’ business models to sustain growth
• Promote and develop new activities in various engineering domains
• Develop and/or maintain collaborations between industry/academia/ and government
• Communicate and partner with various Society Managing Boards
• Develop, grow and sustain a social media presence that increases organizational exposure, expands potential partnership reach and provides updates to our communities
• Help develop, manage and exceed conference budgets for products and services including various conferences
• Travel is required; up to 25% domestic and potentially international
