The Lead Assessor, CAP 15189 is responsible for managing the entire accreditation process for assigned participating laboratories including initial introductions through onsite assessment, reporting and ongoing account monitoring.
Core Job Responsibilities
Serving as customer account representative to provide guidance in the process of accreditation to the laboratory throughout the ISO accreditation cycle.
Evaluating continued conformance to ISO standards.
Serving as a lead assessor or team assessor member.
Performing technical review of nonconformity responses for all staff-assessed laboratories.
Working independently through diversified procedures and policies, requiring analytical and interpretive thinking, and excellent organization and account management skills.
Applying problem-solving abilities as situations warrant.
Qualifications for this role
Must have a business/operations orientation.
Excellent communication skills are essential for an ISO assessor to be successful in evaluating and managing a client’s conformance to ISO.
Must be a team player oriented to sharing information to support and strengthen CAP ISO assessment activities.
Able to apply technical knowledge effectively in multiple scenarios.
Strong knowledge and background in the ISO Standards, and other quality management practices.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance practices and accreditation or certification programs.
Experience in external assessments required.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
The ability to manage multiple laboratory clients through the accreditation process of application through ISO accreditation.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office products required: especially in Excel.
ISO certified assessor preferred:
RAB QSA Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor
Minimum 5 years experience in ISO assessments required, including at least 2 years as an external assessor.
Generalist background and/or experience working for an integrated delivery network (System) laboratory preferred.
Extensive travel (50%-75%) to conduct onsite surveillance and audits.
