As a CAD Manager, you will be leading design document production and quality control for the design of sustainable multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from complex roadways and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects that allow people to experience the natural environment. Your focus will be on guiding the firm’s designers to apply industry best practices to produce a wide variety of deliverables, from concept plans and design development to detailed final design plans for construction projects. You will also be responsible for working with our IT Department to purchase and maintain hardware and software for the firm’s CAD user group, training staff in the efficient use of CAD tools, managing software licensing, and overseeing TDG’s CAD practices. Toole Design Group currently operates multiple CAD and engineering design software platforms, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Inroads, Geopak, and AutoTurn. An Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or comparable experience
At least 4 years of civil engineering CAD experience
Strong drafting skills
A broad knowledge base and understanding of civil engineering drawings
Expert-level proficiency in Computer Aided Design [JL1] (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, both preferred) and experience in user and environment configuration
Knowledge of civil engineering design software (experience configuring Civil 3D, Inroads, and/or Geopak is desired)
Familiarity with computer hardware, basic Windows and network troubleshooting is a plus
