STV, Inc. has an immediate opening in our Boston, MA office for a Quality Assurance Manager for our Transportation and Infrastructure Division.
The primary duties of the Quality Assurance Manager include responsibility for implementing, coordinating, training, and administering STV Quality Management System within the T&I Division and across all disciplines: Civil, Structures, Rail, Planning and Resident Engineering Inspection.
Candidate will report directly to the Operations Director and will manage and direct activities specific to the Division’s implementation of the corporate QMS. He or She will also serve as a liaison between the Corporate STV Quality Manager and local leadership to advance the Boston T&I Quality objectives.
Responsibilities include the following:
Partner with the Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Leadership and all Disciplines in successfully implementing the Quality Program and in managing project risks with all Discipline Leads.
Monitor the effectiveness of the Quality Program implementation through project audits, project control meetings. Ensure all relevant project records are maintained in accordance with the STV “Record Management & Project Filing” Program.
Work with the Director and Project Managers to assist with performance monitoring and records maintenance of all project reviews, QC reviews; Change orders, contract/sub-contract management.
Track and Monitor all Submittals; generate Quality assurance performance reports.
Perform QA reviews of all submittals in accordance with STV T&I checking procedures; Issue Submittal compliance report for each QA review.
Identify areas of improvement through ongoing internal project audits; provide QMS training to new staff.
Serve as initial point of contact for all Quality related questions and issues and assist PMs with creation of Project Management Plan, and Project Manual.
Attend project meetings and serve as Quality Assurance Manager on large or critical projects when needed.
Create and maintain project audit schedule and perform all audits; issue corrective actions and monitor compliance with all CARs.
Conduct employee training and awareness activities such as: issuing regular Quality Tips, creating Quality local processes.
Liaise with IT to create tools that can support the Quality program in order to help monitor quality activities.
BS in Engineering or related field or equivalent education is preferred. Civil is not required
Quality Certifications preferred.
5+ years overall experience is preferred with experience in applying and creating quality procedures to technical work processes and work products.
Strong organizational, writing and communication skills are critical as is the ability to work with a wide range of system applications and staff, both internal to Boston T&I (across several offices) as well as with external stakeholders.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our STV T&I Division is a must.
Knowledge of ISO 9001-2008 Quality standards is required.
Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
