Aluminum die cast manufacturer located in Jackson, Tennessee seeking detail-oriented Product Quality Engineer. Experience in automotive industry with education and manufacturing training in quality techniques such as TS16949/ISO-9000 procedures, FMEA, APQP, MSA, and PPAP. Will be the primary customer quality liaison. Promote standards of excellence, provide problem solving leadership to the organization, lead and implement continuous improvement activities, monitor key measurement data for analysis and comply with established quality system registration requirements, procedures, and objectives.
Manage product launches and engineering changes to ensure compliance with Company’s and customers’ requirements.
Assists in development and implementation of new products or product changes. Creates product and quality specifications, quality plans, risk analyses, FMEAs in collaboration with other product development team members.
Assist in development of PPAP documentation including PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagrams and other submission requirements.
Lead, develop, manage and execute all required quality systems.
Develops and implements process and procedures, including assessment of cost and responsibility, for disposition of discrepant material.
Support corrective action process by preparing and submitting customer required documentation using a formal documented problem solving method such as an 8D analysis.
Lead and direct problem solving teams for responding to customer quality complaints and internal quality issues.
Creates training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
Effectively manage the quality management function including in-process, final, and layout inspection.
Create and implement sampling procedures and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
5+ years of experience
Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings
Experience with ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is required
Knowledge of machine shop and GD&T.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including experience preparing problem solving documents.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in self-directed environment.
Versatile, flexible, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
