The City of Irvine is seeking a detail oriented Traffic Systems Specialist. This person will have an advanced skill set in traffic signal systems to perform installation, diagnosis, repair, modification and maintenance tasks for the City's sophisticated computerized/automated traffic signal systems and related equipment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with signal routine maintenance and cabinet troubleshooting. The Traffic Systems Specialist position plays a lead role in the maintenance and repair of every signalized intersection throughout the City. This position supports other specialists as necessary to accomplish complicated tasks and will occasionally take on a lead role to a Traffic Systems Technician.
This position requires an Associate degree in Electronics or related field as well as three years of microprocessor and electronic traffic signal system controllers bench and field experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. A valid California Driver's license is also required. An ideal candidate will have experience with ASC/3 controller firmware and will have completed the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Levels I, II and III Traffic Signal Certification Program.
