The Engineering Plans Examiner performs residential and commercial civil engineering plan reviews by applying knowledge of applicable codes, ordinances and standards. Writes letters, interprets codes and coordinates reviews with other City departments. Provides direction to the public, architects, engineers, developers and contractors regarding City development and permitting processes.
The ideal candidate will have a two year associate's degree in a field closely related to Civil Engineering and 3 years of related experience in civil engineering design and/or civil engineering plan review in a municipal government setting. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal/human relations skills. Great writing, comprehension, and computer literacy skills are a must.
