We are searching for a Structural Engineer who is able to design and lead. The position requires a Structural Engineering License in the State of Illinois and a minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in transportation related structural design. Additionally, PE License and project management experience desired. Must be familiar with IDOT and Illinois Toll-way general bridge design standards and have worked in a technical role on a bridge design project within the last 5 years. Typical responsibilities include field inspections, reporting, documentation, bridge structure design and analysis, design calculations, management of drafting activities, and mentorship of other engineers. Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Design to client and regulatory requirements;
Manage mid to large size projects and programs;
Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner;
Manage subordinate or other discipline resources to quality, schedule and budget requirements;
Shop drawing review and disposition;
Prepare project documents and reports
Maintain project files;
Create and enforcing project quality plan;
Data and document entry into various platforms
Report safety, health and quality issues to management
Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation;
Assist management as directed;
CAD and CADD.
Minimal Education and Experience:
Four year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution;
PE License in Illinois;
SE License in Illinois;
Five to ten years of relevant experience
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel as well as ACAD or MicroStation;
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including AASTHO and AISC;
Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis;
Working knowledge of discipline specific design software and design management systems including STAAD, CSIBridge or other similar software design and analysis tools;
Masters Degree in Structural Engineering
